2. Installing
First,
run the Install.exe file form the disc. Then follow the instructions on the
screen until the installation process is finished. If the installation program
determines that it's necessary to restart your computer select Ok to restart,
and click the Finish button. After rebooting the game is 100% installed.
3. Hosting and joining the game (multiplayer)
A)
LAN (Local area network)
At least two computers must be connected. Each player must start the game,
but only one of them has to “Host” the game. That means that the very player hosts
the session that opens the link for other player to join. After setting the
options for the current match, the game begins. Other player must then click on
the “Refresh” button to update the host list and then double click on the
created session title.
B) TCP/IP (modem connection)
A player must be connected to the Internet in order to create the match.
The session’s host must then inform all other players which TCP/IP address that
the session is hosting on. That address can be viewed by pressing the F1 key on
the keyboard.
When other player(s) wish to join, they must click on the TCP/IP button
in the main menu of the game. The dialogue appears in which the player has to
enter the TCP/IP address provided by the host. If the game has found an active
session under that address, it will be listed in the host list. Double click to
join the game.
Tip: to inform players of IP address, you can send them a SMS or an email,
or simply call them on the phone. : )
4. Single play
Simply,
set the options in the User and Options menus. Then click on the Single player
button. Now, you will be able to set number of players that will take a part in
the match (max. 2 humans + bots - AI). Bots are computer controlled players (ships).
You can set their skills. Also, you can increase game’s speed (100 % =
default).

Shields:
In
the game, it is possible to reinforce one of the ship’s shields at the expense
of other shields. A shield can be reinforced only if the shield is already up. If
someone has destroyed one of your shields it’s best not to expose that shield
to any fire and wait about 7-10 second until it can be restored. Of course,
when it’s restored, it is set to minimum value.
Power ups:
Power
ups are objects that appear now and then on the battle map that can be collected
by any ship on the screen. Each power up gives different benefits to your ship.
Also, once a power up being collected, it lasts for a while, but then its
effect dissipates.
Hull
repair – repairs the ship’s hull damage
Shield
repair – restores all the shields
Full
repair – repairs both hull and shields
Quad
damage – amplifies phaser damage
Super
torpedoes – amplifies torpedo damage
Bat’leth – adds a Bat’leth sword at the front of the ship (damages enemies on
close contact)
Invulnerability
– the ship is immune to any kind of damage
Auxiliary
power – fast recharging of ship’s weapons
Question mark (?) – 33% chance for a warp
core breach, 67% for a random power up

Troubleshooting
There
isn't any particular error that can occur during game play, or when trying to
start it. But error is always possible due to different hardware configurations
or whatever. The best way to solve the problem(s) is to exit the game and
restart you computer. Then enter the game again.
If
you experience some problems that you can't solve by yourself, send us an
email.
If
you haven’t installed Microsoft DirectX 9.0b on your computer, the game will
inform you, but will not run. DirectX can be found on the internet and it’s
free to download.
